We’ve all been there,
One day everything is fine and then the next, the love of your life (or best friend) wants to end it all.
Your mind is left confused, your heart drained, and your soul crushed.
You can’t even picture life being the same again.
It appears that your whole world has just collapsed in front of your very eyes.
I am here to tell you that your world is not over and the best is yet to come into your life.
In this post, I will give you 5 ways to get over your breakup and come out the other side a better you.
It is important that you make an effort on ending on the right terms with your friend/partner rather than trying to prove that you are right in the situation.
People who care more about being right rather than ending right just prove how wrong they were.
2. Fight through wanting to fight back
The bitterness, resentment, and anger that enter the heart through fighting back have no place in your soul.
Your end goal is to end right and end well in the eyes of the Lord.
3. Fight for them
Ephesians 6:12 states “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Often times we think our struggle is against those who hurt us. And it can be hard to see that your struggle is not caused by them.
You might think they are your enemy, but they are not.
We all have an enemy, but it is not each other.
4. Think positive things about them
I know, I know, crazy right? I bet you’re thinking how in the world is it possible to think positive things about someone who has caused you so much pain.
But I promise you, doing this will work wonders for your heart.
Thinking positive things about someone who hurts doesn’t benefit them, it benefits you. Doing this will keep hate and resentment out of your heart and allow God to fill you with love and peace.
5. Trust God
God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. It can be painful when our normal gets snatched right from under us.
We have to rise above our circumstances and not give in to the temptations of the flesh. The flesh tells you that you need to seek fairness, justice, and revenge.
Rise above your circumstances and seek to hold on to the greater good: honoring God.
God will handle everything in our lives, we just have to be obedient to him.
Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”
