What size jar should you use for mason jar centerpieces?
It’s best to opt for a 16oz or 32oz mason jar for creating your centerpiece for your party. 16oz mason jars are fine to use if you have other decoration elements on your tables (candles, ribbon photos, etc). If you want your centerpiece to act as a statement piece on your tables, 32oz will be your best bet!
What can you use to fill mason jars for centerpieces?
Flowers
Flowers will make a great addition to any mason jar centerpiece. Either faux or real flowers will work. It all just comes down to your preferences. Choose flower colors and styles that match the overall theme of your graduation party.
For example, if your party theme/decorations are simple, you can have fun with flowers and be bold with them. If you already plan on having a party theme/decorations that are on the busier side, opt for a simple flower (ex. baby breath) so that it isn’t over powering.
Candy
Filling your mason jars with candy is another great (and yummy) way to take up space in your centerpiece. You can choose wrapped or unwrapped candy.
Both will get the job done. But if you want your guests to be able to enjoy some of the candy at the end of the party, wrapped candy will be your best bet for sanitary reasons.
Crinkle Papers
Crinkle paper is a classic centerpiece filler that you can’t go wrong with! You can find crinkle paper at your local craft stores for less than $5 and even Dollar Tree making this one of the most budget-friendly centerpiece filler options.
Newspaper
If all else fails and you are creating your graduation party centerpieces on a whim, using newspaper to fill your mason jars will do just the trick!
However, I recommend that you only use this option if you aren’t going to be using a clear mason jar. I mean let’s face it, newspapers aren’t the prettiest thing out there, am I right?
Now that we’ve covered the basics let’s hop into the centerpieces!
