Everyday Cleaning Hacks
Clear your “catch all “ place every night
We all have that place…and you know exactly what place I am talking about. Our catch all place. The place where you throw anything and everything. Then you say to yourself “I’ll grab it later”. And then later never comes.
The next thing you know there is an entire mountain of clutter that seems never ending. But I’m going to let you in on a little secret: clear your catch all every.single.night.
It sounds simple, but trust me, it will make all the difference. Set a reminder on your phone if you need help remembering. Your future self will love you for this!
Make your bed in the morning
This is another cleaning hack that sounds so simple, but it will truly make all the difference. Did you know that when you make your bed in the morning you will be more likely to stay clean and organized throughout the day?
When your bed is unmade, it will subconsciously cause you not to care about other clutter that you see around your space and sort of hides it.
But when your bed is made, you subconsciously will want you to keep other areas in your room / house clean.
Tired of carpet stains?
Carpet stains are something that are such a pain in the butt. Especially when you just can’t seem to get rid of them no matter what you try.
This carpet cleaner will seriously change your life. You have got to try it. The Folex carpet cleaner will get out the toughest stains, and leave your carpet feeling fresh and new!
This stain remover also works well for furniture. If you have a white or light colored couch, you NEED this stain remover!
Use cute storage bins
I don’t know what it is, but something being cute makes me want to stay clean and organized even more than normal.
Invest in some cute storage bins to set around your high traffic areas that normally accumulate lots of clutter throughout the day.
Clean as you go
It is good to get in the habit of cleaning as you go throughout the day.
For example if you dirty one dish go ahead and watch that one dish and put it away that way you don’t have lots of dishes accumulating in the sink.
Another example would be wiping down your countertops as soon as you see a spill or see clutter on them.
Invest in a cordless vacuum
How many of you despise vacuuming? Vacuuming is just something that is so time consuming and seems like a lot of work as you’re doing it.
I realized not too long ago that the act of vacuuming itself wasn’t as bad as me having to unplug and replug the vacuum every five minutes because the cord didn’t stretch far enough or had I had to go to another room.
With cordless vacuums, you will be able to save so much time during your vacuuming process, and you can knock out your vacuuming in a breeze.
The Dyson cordless vacuum is extremely popular and is so high quality and completely worth the price!
Cleaning Hacks For Kitchen
Cleaning hacks for oven: Use a removable liner in your oven
To prevent food falling and getting stuck in the bottom of your oven, I would try using a removable oven liner when you are baking / cooking.
Having a liner at the bottom of your oven will make their clean up so much easier and stress-free.
Don’t be afraid of the dishwasher
A dishwasher can be and will be at your best friend when it comes to cleaning. I was afraid of the dishwasher because I thought it used so much water and was super wasteful when I only had a handful of dishes to wash.
I realized that as much water as I’m running to clean my dishes, I might as well have used the dishwasher.
Another perk of using a dishwasher is that you can throw your dishes in there and then tackle other areas of the kitchen or other areas of the house that you need cleaned while that is being done.
Cleaning hacks for microwave
For a super easy microwave cleaning experience, all you need is a towel. Yep, you read it right.
- Thoroughly wet your towel and place it in the microwave
- Microwave the towel for about a minute.
- After the towel has cooled enough where you can grab it, use it to wipe down the microwave.
Dish sponge cleaning hacks
- Microwave
Fully saturate your dish sponge and place it in the microwave. Microwave it for 1-2 minutes and there you have it! A bacteria free dish sponge.
- Dishwasher
When you run your dishwasher for its regular load, throw in your dish sponge so it can get cleaned too!
Clean your stovetop
Having trouble getting your stovetop clean? Try this super easy stovetop cleaning hack.
- Create a paste of baking soda and water
- Coat all of your burners and tough spots with paste.
- Let sit for 20-30 minutes (or longer depending on how tough your spots are)

Use command hooks on your trash can
If you are tired of your trash can liners always falling, try placing small command hooks and the side of your trash can.
All you will need to do is hook your liner handles around the hooks and you can say goodbye to falling trash can liners!
Cleaning Hacks for Bathroom
Remove water spots
It’s time to grab your baking soda again (seriously this stuff is amazing!) This time we are bringing out the vinegar too!
Create a mixture of half baking soda and half vinegar and stir until it makes a paste. Spread the paste on your water stains and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then you will scrub and rinse with water.
Be sure to thoroughly dry the surface to prevent any new water spots from forming.
Out of glass cleaner?
If you are out of glass cleaner you can easily make your own at home! Simply add one tablespoon of vinegar, one cup of water, and one cup of rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle.
Clean your toilet brush
After you are done cleaning your toilet, lay your toilet brush on your toilet seat.
Generously spray the brush with your favorite disinfectant spray and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
Rinse with hot water and you will be good to go!
Remove makeup stains with shaving cream
If you have makeup stains that have taken over your countertops and cabinets (or anywhere else you have them), you will love this cool cleaning hack!
Grab some shaving cream and apply it the stain along with cold water. Let it sit for a few minutes and scrub away! It should come right out.
Dull shower head?
Soak your shower heads in a bag of vinegar for a few hours (or overnight) to shine it up a bit.
