Christmas is right around the corner and it’s about time to get started planning your Christmas party for this year.
Party planning in itself can be immensely stressful, but planning a Christmas party? It can be a whole different ball game.
Having Christmas party planner printables on hand is just what you need to stay organized and keep your mind sane while planning your big day.

How to Plan The Perfect Christmas Party
Step 1: Pick Your Theme
Every good Christmas party has a theme. You want to be sure you choose a theme that you can easily decorate for.
Color themes such as red & gold or all white are popular options because you will be able to find so many decoration options to fit exactly what you are looking for.
You can also do activity themed parties such as a pajama Christmas party, ugly Christmas sweater party, or a hot chocolate party.
Step 2: Choose a location
If your party is going to be at your house, you can skip this step. If not, you need to decide where exactly you will be hosting.
Will it be a family member or friend’s house? Do you have to book a venue somewhere? You want to be sure that the location you choose can fit the amount of guests you are having and is open for your set date.
Step 3: Decide on 2-3 party activities
A party isn’t a party without having fun activities for your guests to play. Activities are a great way to keep everyone entertained all night long, and to keep the party moving.
Step 4: Make a menu
The food is generally going to be the star of the show, so you want to make sure you have a dinner plan.
First decide if you are going to have party snacks (casual finger foods) or a full on 3 course meal.
Then you will need to decide if you are going to cater your food in from your favorite restaurant, cook everything at home, or have a potluck styled Christmas party.
Whichever option you choose, you will want to be sure that it fits into your party budget and you are able to have more than enough food for your guests.
Step 5: Create and Send Out Invitations
Now that you have most of the important steps out of the way, it is time to send out your invitations.
Etsy has some of the CUTEST Christmas party invitations that I have seen around. Another option you may like is creating your own invitations in Canva.
If you go to “templates” in Canva and search “Christmas party invitations” in the search bar, it gives you so many options that you can choose from.
Canva is also a great option if you are looking to send out invitations by text/email rather than mailing or hand-delivering them (which will save you $$$)!
Step 6: Shop for decorations
It’s time to decorate! This my favorite (and in my opinion, most important) step of the Christmas party planning process.
Some of my favorite places to get decorations are Target, Amazon, and Etsy. Between the three of them, you are sure to find everything you need to decorate for your party!
