15 Things to Do When You’re Stuck at Home

I know first hand how hard it can be to find things to do when you’re stuck at home that will keep you up and moving. After awhile, the endless scrolling through social media and watching Youtube videos just won’t cut it anymore.

I have put together a list of 15 things that you can do when you are stuck at home to help overcome the boredom and put your free time into some good use!

THINGS TO DO WHEN STUCK AT HOME

1. Try out new recipes

If you are stuck at home and have a passion for cooking, try out a couple of those new recipes that have been on your mind and see how they turn out!

2. Read a book that you’ve always wanted to read

Reading self improvement books and even any book in general is a great way to pass the time on a boring day stuck at home.

3. Start a new movie or series

If you typically have a hard time finding the time to sit down and watch TV, make a list of all of the shows and series that you have been dying to watch. Then, you can cross them off your list as you go.

4. Organize your home

On a day that you have absolutely have nothing to day, it is the perfect time to declutter your home and organize your space.

5. Try a new self care routine

Creating a new self care routine is a great way to pamper yourself and do something out of the ordinary that you don’t normally do for yourself.

6. Make a self care kit

Grab some of your favorite things from around the house and throw together a self care kit! Making a self care kit will have you prepared for tough and stressful days and help to ease your mind during the process.

7. Play games with your roommates/family

Being stuck at home is a great way to spend time bonding with loved ones around you. And what better way to bond than with  games. Here a few of my favorites:

  • Cards Against Humanity
  • What Do You Meme?
  • The Voting Game

8. Make a gratitude list

When the feeling of boredom hits, it can be easy to get sucked into a gloomy funk. If you find yourself feeling this way, take the time to write out everything you are grateful for and why, and watch how your mood changes.

9. Learn a Tik Tok Dance

I am sure you have seen all the rave about these fun new Tik Tok dances to popular songs that are going around. If you have a lot of free time on your hands, learning a few of them could be a fun an activity for you and your friends/family.

10. Learn a new skill

Since you have a a lot of down time on your hands, this is the perfect time to pick up a new skill. It can be learning a language, picking up a new skill for work, or even just learning how to do something you’ve always wanted to do.

11. Create a new home workout routine

If you can’t get to your local gym or are just interested in trying something new for your workouts, try spicing up your routine with some workouts you’ve never done before.

12. Clean your makeup brushes

Makeup brush cleaning typically goes on the back burner and never gets done as much as it should. Take this time to go through and thoroughly clean your makeup brushes! Here are some products that might be helpful:

  • Makeup Brush Shampoo
  • Makeup Brush Cleaning Mat
  • Electric Makeup Brush Cleaner

13. Discover a new podcast

I love finding new podcasts to listen to throughout the day. While you’re cooking, organizing, or even washing your makeup brushes. Try out some new podcasts. You never know which podcast will be a real life changer.

14. Make a list of your goals

Sometimes we can get caught up in our current situations and lose track of what we are working toward. Writing out your goals is a great way to get your mind back focused on what is truly important to you.

15. Plan your next vacation/dream vacation

When I am stuck at home, I find it fun to plan out my dream vacation to pass time by. I will go through and plan out the location, the hotel, where I would eat, what activities I would do, etc. I sometimes even go as far as planning out the financials of it all.

Feeling stuck at home can almost make you feel trapped in a way. Planning a future “escape” is a fun way to make the most out of your time.
