When moving into your first apartment, there are some things that are worth investing in that will be better for you in the long run if you invest in them early on.

I made the mistake of getting the cheapest things I could find when moving into my first apartment. This made me end up spending even more money than I would have if I had just invested in nice quality pieces from the get go.

I have put together a list of everything worth investing in for your first apartment so that you are able to find things that are nice, and will last you for years to come!

6 Things Worth Investing in For Your Apartment

A Comfy Couch

There is no doubt about it that a couch will most likely be one of the most expensive items on your list of things to get for your new apartment. It is so important that you make the investment of buying a good quality couch.

I know so many people that have gotten cheaper couches in an attempt to save money, and then they ended up hating the couch! They then ended up having to spend even more money buying a nicer one.

When deciding on a couch to get for your apartment, I would opt for a neutral-colored couch that you could take with you anytime you move.

For most of us, our first apartment is not going to be our last apartment.  It is important that you have one that will go with a variety of apartment themes that you may end up having.

Here are some really nice comfortable couches that are completely worth the price and will last you a long time.

Nice Cookware

Having good quality cookware is essential if you are going to be cooking the majority of your meals everyday.

When I moved into my first apartment, I decided to get the cheapest thing I could find and call it good. That was a terrible mistake because I ended up going through two sets of cheap cookware sets in less than a year!

Having a good quality cookware set improves the quality of your food, are easier to clean, and are way more durable.

Here are some cookware sets guaranteed to last you a couple of years (maybe more!)

Good Quality Mattress

If you care anything about your neck, back, or your quality of sleep, you have got to get a good quality mattress when moving into your first apartment.

I’ll be honest with you mattresses: mattresses are not that cheap. But you don’t want a bad mattress. Because if you have a bad mattress, it could really mess up your day to day functioning.

Mattresses have come a long way over the years. I know that a long time ago, it could cost you anywhere between $700 and $1,000 for a good quality mattress.

But Nowadays, you can find some really good quality affordable ones for anywhere between $200 and $400 which isn’t terrible at all!  Overall, it is worth the investment. Here are some mattresses that I would recommend trying out.

Organizing Containers

Organizing containers will be your best friend (if they aren’t already) when you move into your new apartment. You can use organizing containers for anything and everything that you can think of.

Whether you are organizing your closet, vanity, or pantry, organizing containers you have to get some good quality organizing containers!

I don’t know what I would do without my organizing containers. They literally help me keep my life together. I like to buy my organizing containers from the Container Store. They are super good quality and last a really long time.

In the past, I have gotten cheaper organizing containers from places like TJ Maxx or Walmart and they ended up not lasting me very long.

If you don’t want to get your containers from The Container Store,  or you don’t have one near you, Amazon has a really good collection that I will leave below so you can check that out as well.

Vanity Mirror

I bought my vanity mirror my freshman year of college and have used it in every single place that I have lived! And I can not get enough of it.

If you’re into makeup,  and are looking for a good vanity mirror to try, I purchased this one from amazon and it has lasted 3 years! I haven’t even had to change any of the light bulbs.

I am thinking about getting a new one for my next apartment that’s just a little bit smaller and takes up a little bit less space. But if you have the space I recommend trying out this vanity mirror for your apartment.

Here are some other good quality vanity mirrors that you may like for your space.
