Finding time to spend with God has never been easier. I am going to give you 5 ways to spend more time with God to show you just how easy it is.

Naturally, we are all busy people with busy schedules who can barely find time to eat throughout the day. However, in the midst of our crazy lives, I am going to show you how to make time for Jesus so you can grow closer to Him each and every day.

1. Get into a small group

Getting into a small group at my church was honestly the best thing that I have ever done.

This is one of my favorite ways to spend more time with God because I get to spend that time with other girls who are just like me.

Small groups allow you to connect with other like minded people to discover the messages of the bible together as a community.

In short terms: it makes reading the bible so much fun!

Typically, small groups have a scheduled reading every week.

You read on your own throughout the week, then come together once a week to discuss the reading.

Doing this allows you to hear other perspectives and insights that you might not have picked up when you were reading.

This is also a great time to ask questions if you are confused about something you read.

Small groups are one the best ways to spend more time God while connecting with other believers.

2. Read a devotional everyday

Another way you can spend time with God is incorporating Him into your morning routine.

You can do this by simply reading a devotional every morning.

I am currently reading The Confident Women by Joyce Meyer, and I love it.

Devotions are a quick and easy way to start your day with scripture, a message, and a prayer.

If my devotion sets with my spirit that day I will often times make note to find the scripture in the bible where it was from, and study that particular chapter.

3. Pray……..even throughout the day

We often forget one of the easiest ways to spend more time with God: just talking to Him.

By this, I don’t just mean the long prayers when you get on your knees.

You can also just talk to God leisurely throughout the day.

If something good happens to you, stop and tell him thank you.

If you are feeling nervous about something at work or school, stop and ask him to be with you.

You truly just talk to him about anything as you are going through your day.

4. Listen to worship music

I don’t know why, but listening to worship music throughout day puts me in the best mood.

When I listen to worship music, I can feel his presence with me.

I challenge you to replace one portion of the day you spend listening to other music with worship music and see how it brightens your day!

5. Make a schedule

A phrase I hear quite often is “I just don’t have time to study the bible”

Well…..of course you won’t have time if you don’t make time.

Maintaining a relationship with God is not that different than maintaining a friendship with with your girlfriends.

Think about it, if you never spent time with them, would you know them as well? Would the friendship be considered a good quality friendship and last?

See, our relationship with God isn’t that different.

In my notes on my phone I have a list of different bible chapter that I want to study.

Every week, I pick a chapter from this week and add it to my schedule to study over a period of 1-3 days averaging around 30 minutes to an hour.

Find a time that works best for you and Him to your schedule.

He makes time for us every day of the week and every second of every minute of every hour.
