Designing vision boards has become a common practice in today’s society. However, the making of digital vision boards has been on the rise.
I remember when I was first introduced to vision boards in a class in middle school.
My teacher handed us stacks of magazines to go through and cut out pictures of things that we liked.
At the time I remember thinking that it was pointless and waste of time.
But as I got older, I was able to look back and reflect on the basic fundamental goal setting practices that she was instilling in us.
Now, you can never go wrong with the “old fashion” way of creating vision boards.
However, if you don’t have a bunch of magazines laying around or access to a printer to print pictures, a digital vision board will be perfect for you.
1. Establish and specify your goals
Before you start designing your digital vision board, it is important to sit down and analyze exactly what you want for this upcoming year.
Be specific about what you want and how you will achieve it.
Start by making a detailed list of your goals and an action plan to create a clear vision to what you want to achieve.

2. Find the perfect photos
Now that you have identified exactly what you want to achieve this year, it is time to find the perfect photos that reflect exactly what you want.
You can use Pinterest or free stock photo sites such as Pixabay and Pexels.
Try to include photos that are the most accurate representation of your goals.
When looking for the perfect photos for your vision board, be sure to include quotes, scriptures, or sayings that you want to live by this upcoming year.
Doing this will allow to you to remember your “why” and keep you on track when it may seem like things aren’t working out.

3. Design your board using Canva
I recommend using Canva to design your digital vision board.
However, there are other sites such as PicMonkey that are also effective.
I find that Canva has an easy to use software that makes designing digital vision boards simple and fun.
All you have to do is upload the pictures you have downloaded to your computer or phone (they also have an app), and arrange your photos the exact way you want them.
4. Make your board visible
Now that you have perfected your digital vision board, it is time to show it off.
Set your vision board as your wallpaper on your phone or computer.
You can even print it off, frame it, and hang it up.
Doing this will allow you to not only see your vision board consciously on a consistent basis, but subconsciously as well.
5. Reflect on your board everyday
Every morning when you wake up, intentionally look at your vision board.
Visualize everything you have on there as if it has already happened.
Repeat this practice in the evening.
As you do this daily, you are consistently reminded of your goals and are more likely to stay on track to accomplishing them.
