1. Daily Devotions
Daily devotions are an amazing way to incorporate scripture and an encouraging message in to your day. Life gets crazy at times, and we don’t always have time to sit every single day and do an entire bible study. This makes daily devotions perfect to put on your list of spiritual goals for 2020.
Each daily devotion you read might not seem to impact your life in a significant way in that moment. However, when done consecutively and cumulatively , they will help you grow and mature spiritual and deepen your relationship with Christ.
Reading daily devotions will also help you be able to apply scripture to everyday situations.
This year, I have been reading The Confident Woman by Joyce Meyer and I love it. It has really changed the way I view myself as a woman of Christ and has truly impacted the way I live, the thoughts I think, and the actions a take on a daily basis.

2. Bible Study
Adding bible study to your list of spiritual goals for 2020 is one of the most important spiritual goals for Christians to set.
Studying the word of God is essential to your spiritual growth and relationship with God. The word of God is our sword through life (Ephesians 6:17). Without our sword, how can we fight the battles that life presents us?
Engaging in bible study allows you to develop a clear understanding of the truth so you are able to recognize what is false. With this knowledge, you will be able to better discern what is right from wrong and live your life in God’s will.

3. Join a small group
Joining a small group this year was honestly the best decisions I have ever made.
Being in a small group provides a family-like atmosphere that will help promote significant spiritual growth in your life.
I don’t know about you, but having a group of Jesus loving friends was something I was in dire need of at the start of this year.
Small groups allow personal discovery to happen in a natural and comfortable way. You have the opportunity to learn, ask questions, involve yourself in the lives of others, and allow yourself to be vulnerable with the other members of your group.
4.Prayer Time
Sometimes we forget the most simple form there is to growing our relationship with Christ…just talking to Him. When you pray, you are willing inviting God into even the smallest parts of your life. Praying helps reduce stress and anxiety, provides peace, opens doors of opportunity, and produces confidence.
You don’t have to dedicate a significant portion of your time everyday to pray (not saying that you shouldn’t), but, just casually talking to him throughout the day as you are going about the day will make all the difference.
Setting prayer time with Lord is a simple yet effective spiritual goal to set this year that will change your life significantly change your life.

5. Be a blessing to others
Being a blessing to others is the perfect practice to add to your list of spiritual goals for 2020. This spiritual goal not only benefits you, but it changes the lives of others around you for the better.
A few ways you can incorporate this spiritual goal into your routine are:
- Giving to charity
- Donate blood
- Mentor someone in your community
- Volunteer
- Pay for someone’s lunch
- Writing thank you letters
- PLUS MORE
We are all essentially here to bless the lives of others through the Holy Spirit who lives within us. What we do doesn’t even have to be seen as “big” in our eyes. Often times, we can find ourselves discounting even the smallest ways to be a blessing to others in our lives. No matter how big or small you may think something is, when you step out consciously to be a blessing to others, the Lord will be pleased.

Journaling and writing are great examples of spiritual goals that literally require no effort at all. In fact, you probably might already include journaling in your daily routine.
Now it is time to take the practice a tad bit further. Use thus spiritual goal as way to connect and reflect on yourself, your life, and the environment around you.
Ask your self questions such as:
- What did I do today to glorify God?
- What efforts did I make to grow my relationship with Him?
- Did I obey Him today?
- How could I have incorporated a form of worship today?
- Did I give today?
- What current thoughts or worries do I need to give to Him?
