Our mornings and morning routines allow us to set the tone for our days. This help us to be able to have a grasp over the quality of our days, rather than our days having a grasp over us.
As we begin each and every day with a fresh start, we will be better able to truly focus on what is is important to us and our daily lives.
How can a morning routine change your life?
Our bodies love routines. A routine is typically a habit that you continue to do over and over without any thought.
Mornings are a great time for some “you” time. Your mind will be fresh, and your energy will be high.
This will allow you to give yourself some self care before you go into the craziness of your hectic and demanding schedule,

Wake up early
Waking up early will completely turn your life around. However, it can be be a difficult habit to develop if you aren’t used to being a morning person.
Becoming a morning person takes time, but I assure you that it is an attainable goal for anyone and everyone. The key to becoming a morning person is training yourself to become a morning person.
If you aren’t used to waking up early don’t shock your body instantly by waking up at 5 AM if your body is used to waking up at 8 AM.
This will only lead to fatigue and tiredness throughout the day (and that is the last thing that we want).
Start slow and steady. Wake up 30 minutes earlier for 2 weeks, then an hour earlier the next 2 weeks, and so on and so forth until you reach your goal.
Plan your day
Ever since I started planning my days out, I have noticed a major change in my productivity levels. Let me tell you, I was the queen of procrastination.
I would always get the things I needed to do, done, but instead of feeling relieved after completing my tasks, I was stressed, worn out, and felt defeated – And I was tired of feeling that way.
I often hear people say “there’s just not enough time in the day”. However, this is just simply not true. It is all about how you effectively and efficiently you utilize your time.
Take a few minutes everyday and write your tasks and your to-do list in your planner. I personally love to time block. This allows me to see and know what I am supposed to be doing at every hour.

Drink water
After 7-10 hours of no food or drink, your body can be a tad bit dehydrated. Drinking water in the morning will help rehydrate your body and get your system (and metabolism) ready for the day.
Drinking water in the morning can also increase your levels of alertness in the morning. Water aids in brain function allowing you to feel more awake even if you didn’t get the amount of sleep you needed the night before.
Do a morning workout
Working out in the morning not only increases your metabolism, but it prompts to make additional healthier choices throughout your day.
You don’t have to get up and do a full weightlifting session at the gym (unless that is what you like to do), you can find a quick 10-20 minute video of HIIT or even yoga to start your day off.
Eat a nutritious breakfast
With the craziness of everyday life, it can be hard to find time to consume a well-rounded breakfast – or even any meals throughout the day.
Eating a nutritious breakfast doesn’t have to require a lot of effort! There are so many healthy breakfasts on the go options around now that will help you save time in the morning.
Your breakfast is what is going to give you the energy to get through your day and the cognitive function to keep you alert and ready for action!
Take time to get ready
I have recently found that when I take time in the morning to put myself together, I feel better and perform better throughout the day.
For the longest time, I tried to wake up at the latest time possible and do a little as possible to get ready. This routine came down to washing my face, brushing my teeth, throwing up my hair, and grabbing the first outfit I saw while running out of the door.
Doing this left me feeling unmotivated and lacking self confidence throughout the day.
If you are also dealing with this, I encourage you take that extra 30 minutes to throw on some makeup and an outfit you love, I promise you it will be worth it!
